Getting Started
1. Orientation:
- Visit our website at www.littlegiantsteps.com and read everything under “Evaluations”.
- Order the DVD on The Neurodevelopmental Approach from our web store.
2. History and Application Form: Mail the completed history form, along with a photograph of the client to the address at the top of the form. You do not have to complete the 7-day Food Diary (mentioned on page three) before submitting the history form; you can bring it with you to the appointment. If time is limited, email the history form to albedell@littlegiantsteps.com or fax the form to 972-325-4119. Any additional testing can be reviewed at the evaluation and need not be faxed or emailed. Electronic pictures are welcome and appreciated.
3. Deposit: A deposit of $300.00 is necessary to schedule and secure an appointment. We accept cash, checks, Visa, Master Card and Discover.
4. Scheduling an Appointment: Once we receive your completed history form and deposit, we will determine which neuro-educational specialist will best suite your needs and contact you to schedule an appointment.
5. Appointment Day:
- The evaluation process takes approximately 2 hours; 45 hour for the client assessment, 45 minutes for consultation with the neuro-educational specialist and approximately 30 minutes for FAQ’s and rescheduling.
- Your neuro-educational specialist will design an Individualized Neurodevelopmental Program (INP) specifically designed to meet the client’s needs, either the day of your appointment or within one week.
- When your INP is ready, you will receive an email with login information so you can view online video clips of the activities on your INP. You will have 30 days access to the online INP. High speed Internet access is required to view these video clips. If you don’t have high speed Internet access at home, please have an alternate plan for viewing your INP such as: your local library, a “coffee house” or other establishment that offers Internet access, spouses work, or the computer of a neighbor, friend or family member who lives nearby.
- Scheduling the Re-evaluation: Services and support are based on four month time periods, or trimesters. A re-evaluation every four months is necessary to update the client’s INP and continue toward neurological efficiency. A deposit of $225.00 is due at each evaluation in the form of a post dated check or credit card information, which will be held until 5 weeks prior to your next appointment. Appointments must be changed or cancelled five weeks in advance in order to avoid forfeiting your deposit.

- INP Supplies: Many of the neurodevelopmental materials you will need to implement your program can be handmade; however, we have found that the majority of our clients prefer the convenience of purchasing these materials ready-made. The cost of these materials is typically between $50.00 and $150.00 for the Initial Evaluation and less for subsequent Re-evaluations.
- Travel Share Fee: The home office of Little Giant Steps is located in Plano, Texas. Many of our neuro-educational specialists travel to various cities and hold evaluations for the clients in those cities. If your evaluator travels to your location from their local office for evaluations there will be a Travel Share Fee of $25.00-$50.00 per family applied to offset the expenses incurred by our traveling ND’s for gas, renting a location, paying additional personnel at those locations, etc. The Travel Share fee will be added to the total evaluation fee for those clients who travel less than 120 miles (one way) to our branch locations.
- Trimester Policy: Services are offered on a trimester basis (every 4 months). Each trimester begins with an evaluation and includes a new INP and four months of support. In order to receive continued support and to qualify for the Re-evaluation rate of $475.00, you must be seen within 4 months of your last evaluation. In rare cases, the time between evaluations may be extended to 6 or 8 months, but this is not recommended. An extension requires advanced notice and permission, as well as submitting a report and $50.00 fee. If you go longer than 8 months between evaluations, the cost of the Re-evaluation goes back up to $625.00.
- Returned Check Fee: A $25.00 processing fee will be charged for checks returned by the bank for non-sufficient funds. Payment for a returned check must be received in the form of cash, cashier’s check, money order or credit card.
